letting go of maggie

April 13th, 2009

No it was not easy but she’s not suffering anymore my dear darling Mag.
About 2 am this morning she woke me up with groans and lots of involuntary movement. It was like when dogs dream sometimes and their paws are moving but then this was pure distress. I knew it then when I saw her mouth foaming. It was tough for her but after an hour or so she calmed down and had biscuits with me. But her heart would just not give up. I comforted her during the rest of the night until the vet opened the doors. She died very peaceful and quick in my arms in the vets office after an overdose of anaesthetic .
The vet agreed with me that it was her heart and that there was nothing we could do for her except helping her over the threshold.
I can still see the day 14 years ago that she came into my life, We shared a lot of ups and downs together. I guess she’ll always be in my mind from now on.
I got the backhoe out after the rain stopped and made her a nice resting place next to Zeus in my front pasture where she loved to chase the rabbits.

his window molding was a bit rotted. I had to hunt for the right routerbit to copy the shape.
The router itself hangs under the table attached to the aluminium plate.

Making of some storm windows

January 22nd, 2009

Every time I start a new job, I haven’t done in a while - it’s a game of remembering how I did it previous times. I’ll try to explain in words and pictures, if I ever get to figure out how to upload pictures on this blog.

The router bits kind of explain themselfs but it’s handy to have a sample of previous set ups on hand.

I’ll do this first and see if i can load a picture with it.
